Salary & OTE
Base salary: £38,000
Commission: £750 per converted client (based on min. £10k client fee)
OTE: £56,000 (24 client wins per year)
Head of AI is a fast-growing UK-based company providing A-Player Chief AI Officers to mid-size and large businesses (£10m+ revenue) on a fractional (part-time) basis.
Year one growth has been strong. We have raised investment and are now building a small, high-calibre team to support the Founders and senior leadership as the business scales.
We operate at pace, hold a very high bar, and work closely with CEOs, investors, and senior leaders. This is a hands-on role in a founder-led, high-growth business.
Head of AI is hiring a Partnerships & Referrals Manager to build a repeatable, high-quality referral engine across PE, funds, advisory firms and enterprise SaaS.
This is not a traditional brand partnership or networking role (although some networking will be required).
It’s a commercial role for someone who knows how to turn relationships into predictable client wins.
The opportunity
Head of AI works with £10m–£500m businesses, including PE-backed and investor-led companies, to unlock real enterprise value through senior AI leadership.
Our partners already sit at the centre of these businesses.
Your job is to make Head of AI the default referral when AI becomes strategic, risky or value-critical.
What you’ll be doing
Building and activating referral partnerships with:
- PE, VC, Investment Banks and funders
- High-end SaaS and AI software providers
- Advisory firms and fractional C-suite operator
Embedding Head of AI into partner workflows so referrals are
- Triggered at onboarding, investment or review points
- Systematic, not ad-hoc
- Working with partners to define when and why Head of AI is introduced
- Coordinating internally to ensure fast, professional follow-up on referrals
- Enabling partners with simple materials, prompts and training
- Working closely with our Events Manager to convert relationships into referrals
What this role is not
- Not a logo-collecting partnership role
- Not a sponsorship or marketing position
- Not reciprocal referral swapping (we are looking for one way referrals)
- Not account management
You’ll be measured on converted client wins, not activity.
What success looks like
- Partners refer Head of AI as a default, not an exception
- Referrals come at defined trigger points, not randomly
- 24 converted client wins per year through partner activity
Location & travel
- Birmingham based
- Approx. 50% focus on Birmingham
- Some travel to London, Manchester, Bristol, Cambridge and other hubs
You’re likely a good fit if you…
- Have experience in partnerships, referrals or senior BD
- Already have relationships across PE, advisory or SaaS
- Have a good knowledge and interest in AI and technology
- Know how to embed into processes, not just have conversations
- Are confident with senior stakeholders and commercial discussions
- Prefer being measured on outcomes, not meetings
